While Easter is a day to remember the Lord and pray, there is also the fun side of this beautiful day. Make Easter day fun with special food, games and getting the family together at home. It is a day of eggs, cakes, fun stuff and games. So what are the different things you can do to make it fun for the kids and have a great time doing it too?

Rabbit face

Well for starters, you could paint on a rabbits face on all the children! Use safe colours and paint on whiskers and a cute rabbit mouth on the kids and make rabbit ears with cardboard and watch the house come alive with kiddy rabbits hopping around in happiness!

Easter egg hunt

Another great Easter day game would be to organise a hunt for the Easter egg! This can be a lot of fun as you give clues to start the hunt, little surprise gifts with the eggs and clues to look further with each egg found. You could give each child a small basket to put the eggs into so they know how many they have collected.

Fun bubbles

Give all the children soap bubbles to blow along the Easter egg hunt using soap and water. Take any liquid soap and mix one part of soap with 4 parts of water in a cup. Add some sugar or starch to the mixture to make stronger and longer lasting bubbles. Take wire lengths and twist it into a loop to use for dipping into the soap solution and blowing lovely bubbles into the sky. Kids enjoy it and you might find some adults sneaking in a try too!

Create masterpiece hats

Another fun thing to try out is making different Easter hats and bonnets. You can let your imagination run riot with sun hats and bowler hats, cloth caps and floppy hats. Take clue and different decoration items like ribbons, bunny ears, pom poms like rabbit tails, flowers, glitter, paper cut outs and more. Get the children involved and give them all the craft items and let them have a free run of the excitement. Of course ensure that they are supervised so that they don’t get into trouble with scissors and glue!

Frame the memories

Add elastic treat or colourful ribbons to the hats so that they stay in place on their heads as they enjoy the rest of the day. And of course Easter celebrations are not ever complete without Easter pictures. Click as many as you can and make an album or collage with all the lovely pictures and even frame them and enjoy looking at them and the joyous day that it was!
